PsychoSafe - Assessment of Factors Fostering the Development of Psychological Safety in Teams
Join the initiative for a better work environment. Help us build a workplace culture based on trust and transparency!
The PsychoSafe Audit Tool is designed to assess the level of factors that foster the development of psychological safety in your organisation.
The audit can be conducted by:
- the business owner/employer
- a manager or team leader (assessment of their own team).
Psychological safety, as defined by American psychologist and Harvard Business School professor Amy Edmondson, is understood as a shared belief among team members that the team is a safe space for taking interpersonal risks. In practice, this means that people feel free to ask questions, admit mistakes, share ideas and concerns, and express differing opinions without fear of negative consequences or rejection. It is a climate of trust and respect, in which individuals feel safe enough to be open and honest.
The PsychoSafe Tool was developed by a team of experts in psychology and human resources from four countries: Poland, Cyprus, Spain, and Italy, within the framework of the project Healthy and productive hybrid workplace environment in small and medium-sized enterprises -- well-beINTeam. This initiative is coordinated by OIC POLAND Foundation of WSEI University in cooperation with EUROSUCCESS CONSULTING (Cyprus), Macrix (Poland), Wyde (Italy), and SMARTUP (Spain).
Psychological safety is the foundation of a healthy, effective, and engaged work culture. It determines whether people feel free to share their ideas, raise concerns, and make mistakes without fear of judgment.
Conducting an audit is the first step toward understanding the current conditions in your company or team, and identifying which factors are worth strengthening in order to enhance the sense of psychological safety in the workplace or within a specific team.
Completing the PsychoSafe Audit takes approximately 45-50 minutes. It is advisable to take breaks during the session; to resume later, please save your unique token to log back in. Based on your answers, an automatic report will be generated, summarizing overall results and results for each dimension, with interpretations, identified strengths, areas for improvement, and practical recommendations to enhance psychological safety in your organisation, team or department.
The tool is intended for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), particularly those working in distributed teams operating in hybrid or remote models.
